File Formats
GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) - GIFS are used for when uploading looping animations.
JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) - A JPEG can also be used for uploading to the internet, but won't have the same quality when compared to a PNG since it would be compressed even more. A JPEG is usually used for printing smaller images and photos.
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) - PNG is used for when uploading images to the internet.
PSD (Photoshop Document) - PSD or any other files tied to a program is used if wanting to transfer work over to a different computer.
TIFF (Tag Image File Format) - A TIFF is used for printing out very large high quality images, and while they are technically applicable to being upload online, the file itself would most likely be too large to be uploaded.
